Juana's obituary

Juana Lyn Doucet, age 53, passed on Friday, January 8th, 2021 at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville, TX. A memorial will be held Saturday, January 16th, in Wylie, TX.

She was born May 20, 1967, in Columbus Ohio to Juan and Jean Pena. Juana is survived by her loving husband Sam Doucet; sister, Angela Hartman; brother, Juan Pena; 2 daughters and their spouses, Michelle and James Miller, Sammantha and Cody Solvin; and 3 grandchildren, Jameson Solvin, Elizabeth Miller, and Jordyn Solvin.

Juana met the man of her dreams in Beaumont, TX, and tied the knot in Columbus, Ohio on September 29, 1990. She always dreamed of becoming a nurse, and attended school full-time while raising her two small daughters. She graduated at the top of her class from Lamar University. She found her calling working in the ICU, and was known for her compassion and ferocity when it came to her role as patient advocate. She was an excellent nurse, and as such, worked at some of the most prestigious hospitals in the Dallas area including Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas during the Ebola outbreak in 2014.

Though she was a nurse by trade, she enjoyed creating beautiful works of art. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crochet, sketching, and painting. Her quilts, vibrantly colored and intricately stitched, will keep her grandbabies warm for years to come. She will be missed, but will never be forgotten.

Condolences may be sent to 150 N. Westlake Drive, Leonard, TX 75452.
