We are planning a Celebration of Life to be followed by Military Honors. The Celebration of Life will be held at the VFW 9644 Sheridan location. The Fort Logan National Cemetery is a 5 minute drive from the VFW.
If you’re traveling in for my dad’s celebration of life, staying in the Denver area will likely be the most convenient option. Downtown Denver (LoDo) is about 25–30 minutes from Denver International Airport (DIA), making arrivals and departures simple. From downtown, Fort Logan National Cemetery in Littleton is typically 20–30 minutes by car, depending on traffic. Great neighborhoods to consider include LoDo, Cherry Creek, The Highlands — all offering walkable restaurants, coffee shops, and things to do if you’re in town for more than just the service. Staying closer to this area is ideal if you are trying to attend a baseball game as the Rockies are in town playing the Braves that weekend. Staying near Union Station or near the Westin Denver Downtown has many hotel options in the most popular areas.
Another convenient option is the Denver Tech Center (DTC) area. DTC is about 30–35 minutes from DIA and only 15–20 minutes from Fort Logan, making it the closest hotel hub to the cemetery while still offering plenty of newer hotels, easy parking, and quick highway access. A great area for hotel options is in the area of the Denver Marriott Tech Center and the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center. It’s a great choice if you prefer a quieter area, easier logistics, and less downtown traffic. The Tech Center is right off the highway so access to downtown is quick and easy, as well.
Littleton, near the cemetery, itself is beautiful and residential, but it has more limited hotel inventory and dining options. If you’re planning to extend your stay, many mountain towns like Breckenridge, Keystone, and Winter Park are generally 1–1.5 hours from Denver, making it easy to turn the trip into a peaceful Colorado getaway
