Joyce Carol Stewart passed peacefully on January 20th, 2023, going to be with her Savior and reunited with her husband. Joyce was born in Illinois on March 8th, 1939, and in college met her future husband Thomas, who she would be married to until his passing in December of 2022. Joyce was a schoolteacher, attaining a master’s degree and teaching 3rd and 5th grade students in St. Louis, Missouri and Memphis, Tennessee before moving to Oklahoma City with Tom and their son Mark. Joyce was co-owner of Stewart Arabians, which trained and showed Arabians and National Show Horses and she served in numerous capacities in many social clubs including Ester Women and Art League, which she served as president of. In her later life, Joyce became interested in genealogy and traced her family line back to the Mayflower, becoming a certified member of the Mayflower Society. She is survived by her son, Mark Allyn Stewart, and her daughter-in-law Ashley Lee Anne Stewart. Joyce requested a private service which will be attended by her family.
