Joyce's obituary

Joyce L (Haefer) Stenulson, born February 9, 1954, passed away January 30, 2024 from Lewy body dementia at Agrace hospice. She was the third of five sisters of Willie E and Betty Lou (Hoff) Haefer. Joyce was born in Reedsburg, Sauk County, Wisconsin, went to grade school in Cashton, WI, and high school in Monroe, WI. Joyce had two children: Bradley Ivan Woodruff and Billie Jo Lynn Lewis. Bradley was born December 20, 1977; passed away October 26, 2017. Bradley had one son, Ivan David Woodruff-Kunkel. Billie Jo was born January 20, 1979. Billie Jo married Teddy Lewis and they are the proud parents of three children: Noah Justice Woodruff, Nevaeh Lynn Lewis and Xavier Stylz Lewis. Joyce loved and missed her family a great deal. They visited often and spoke on the phone weekly.

Joyce is preceded in death by her father, Willie in 1974, mother Betty Lou in 2022, son Bradley in 2017, sister Beverly in 2022 and all maternal and paternal grandparents.

Joyce is survived by her daughter Billie Jo, son-in-law Teddy, grandchildren Noah, Nevaeh, Xavier and Ivan, siblings Sandy (Michael) Gray, Carol (James) Homan and Elaine Gutzmer.

Joyce lived and worked in Iowa and Dane County. Joyce was a huge lover of animals, especially horses and dogs. Joyce said she liked animals more than most humans! She loved working with her animals, riding motorcycles, hiking, and camping.

Joyce L (Haefer) Stenulson will be remembered fondly for her deep love for her family, her passion for animals and her stalwart, willful, adventurous spirit. Despite the challenges she faced, she was generous with her time for those she loved, and found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was spending time with her loved ones, caring for her animals or enjoying the great outdoors. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren and siblings, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever. Joyce's resilience and zest for life serve as an inspiration to all who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those she cherished.
