Joyce Sharon Shope-Oaks, age 82, of Eaton, Ohio, died on Monday, July 8, 2024 at her home. She was born on May 15, 1942 in Portsmouth Ohio, the daughter of the late Walter & Minnie Lore.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a caregiver for many years, loved working in her garden, and had a creative spirit that came alive in her sewing and crafting which she always did for the benefit of others. The thing she looked forward to the most was making memories each year with her family at The Lore Reunion. Her love for her family was deeply rooted. She will be greatly missed but her legacy lives on through the traditions and cherished memories she leaves behind. 

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband and partner of over 40 years, Harry Oaks, her parents, Walter and Minnie, and her siblings and their spouses, Stanley & Mary, Stella and Chester, Mary and Charles, Annie and Judge, Alta Mae and Johnny, Edward and Patty, Sherman and Mabel, Edith and Jack, Darrell and Wanda, Betty and David.

Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and in the hearts of her surviving loved ones; her brother George and his wife Mary Ann; her sons and their wives, Sherman and Robyn, David and Beverly, her daughter, Kimberly Gregory, her grandchildren Dylan and Keilah, Allen and Lindsay, Dayne and Kellie, Andrew, Ryan and Whitney, Ashley, Waylon, Jordan and Hannah, Morgan and Dylan, her great-grandchildren, Ellis, Elliana, Aavyn, Adalee, Annsley, Rhett, Ryker, Liam, Braylon, Emma, Bella, Sawyer, Ezra, Sapphira, Maverick, Grayson, Naomi, Kaiden, Scarlett, Sophia, and Kaelynn.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Lighthouse Assembly of God, 2339 W Cart Rd, Richmond, IN 47374, with Pastor Dylan Shope officiating. 

Joyce loved caring for others, especially children. She used her gifts to care for any who crossed her path.
