Joyce Margaret Lordy was a caring mother to her six children. She was an only child. She passed peacefully at home on December 6, 2021 at the age of 88.

She was born to Carl and Gertrude Goehring on January 21, 1933 in Montclair, New Jersey. She graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1951. She participated in Girl Scouts all through high school and made some life long friends like Jane. She was raised in the Catholic church and brought her children up with the church. She met and married Jack Lordy and they had 6 children. A big thank you to Jane Droeger who always stayed in touch with her. It meant so much to be remembered by her good friend.

Joyce enjoyed sewing beautiful quilts, knitting, reading and baking. Her specialties were cheesecake and her holiday fruit cake. She enjoyed reading, crosswords and word searches. She enjoyed listening to music especially Andre Rieu. In 2014 she moved from Florida to Aurora, Colorado to live with her son Larry and his family. She was with us for 7 great years. In 2017 she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and lived with the disease until her death. Unfortunately, at the time of her death she was unable to recognize any of her family or friends. Our favorite memory is our trip to Alaska. She had the time of her life and talked about the trip often. It was our pleasure to have her come with us and enjoy herself so much. Her favorite part was being able to see all of Mt. Denali. It was the one thing she never forgot.

She is predeceased by her husband Jack and her son Peter. She leaves behind her children, Kenny, Larry, Nancy, Cliff and Doug. She also leaves behind her granddaughters, Katy and Magy that she lived with for the past few years and her granddaughter Alyssa who came to visit every year. She also leaves behind several other grandchildren and great grandchildren.

There will be no funeral service at this time but there will be a celebration of her life in the springtime. Please donate to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory.
