Joy's obituary

Joyce Eugenie (Bartlett) LeBlanc, beloved mother, grandmother (Nana), great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend peacefully passed away on November 15, 2022 at the age of 86, in Redondo Beach, CA. Joy was born on October 15, 1936 in Norway, Maine the 3rd child out of 9 to Jessie and Fred Bartlett.

She graduated from Norway High School in Norway Maine in 1955, and on May 2nd 1959 she married Paul LeBlanc from South Paris, Maine and moved to Hawthorne, California where they spent the next 46 years. While a stay-at-home mom, she was extremely active in PTA for Eucalyptus Elementary School and the Centinela Valley school district, and expressed her creativity through cake decorating and oil painting. She rejoined the work force in the mid-1970’s at Hughes Aircraft Company making many lifelong friends. She loved hosting parties of all kinds and especially family holiday celebrations. In 2005 Joy and her husband packed up and retired to Yuma, Arizona where their son, Mitchell (Mitch) and his family were living and enjoyed having friends and family come to visit. She returned to southern California at the beginning of 2022.

Joy is survived by her daughters Rhonda (Tom) Hoffarth and Stacy White and son Mitch (Evelin), grandchildren Andrew, Crystal, Hannah, Haleigh, Celeste, Agustin, Zoe, great granddaughters Ryliee and Sophia, great grandsons Jerimiah and Grady and great grandbaby White due in 2023, brothers Fred (Sonny), Robert and Phillip and sisters Mary Young, Bette Iwans, Freda Truman and Carol Edmonson.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 3rd at American Martyrs Church at 10:00 am. The service will also be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend in person using this link: https://www.americanmartyrs.o…

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to either the Susan G Komen Foundation, the American Cancer Society, or the American Diabetes Association.
