Joyce was born in Seaford, Delaware, daughter of the late William Henry Short and Doris Elaine Short who is her surviving Mother.
Joyce worked for Cornell Properties. She was manager of Mill Chase Apts for the last 14 years.
Joyce grew up in Seaford and graduated in 1976. She also attended Dagsboro Church of God in Dagsboro with her Mom once in a while.
Joyce loved cats! Her last cat was named Jackson. He is a real lover boy. Jackson gave her lots of love when she got home from work. He just loved us all. Jackson is with her family.
Joyce is survived by her loving daughter Kaara Leigh and her husband Chris Smith of Millsboro, 4 grand children, William Christopher, River Logan , Noah Caine and her princess Zoe Carmen.
Joyce is also survived by a brother Ron Short & Pat of Millsboro, Robin Mears of Seaford, Sue Adkins-Buckle & Wayne of Salisbury, Constance M. Atkinson of Millsboro & Sister-in-law Brenda Short of Millsboro. Joyce also had several nieces and nephews and cousins. Her brother Daniel B. Short passed in 2018.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
Joyce you will be missed but never forgotten!
Joyce was an organ donor for the Gift of Life and will live on in others.
Joyce has begun her new adventure on the Streets of Gold in Heaven. ♥️
