The last time I spoke with Joyce, she called me from WI to let me know she had left The Villages. As her birthday approached, I intended to call to say hello. News of her passing makes me regret even more that I did not make the call sooner. Joyce and I met through the Medical Transcription Association in Milwaukee. We enjoyed many good laughs and adventures during our "conventions." Joyce and I later on worked together in Green Bay and eventually both migrated to The Villages. She was a wonderful friend who spoke often and lovingly of her family. Thank you for posting her obituary in The Villages Daily Sun to alert her many friends here.
Joyce was such a kind and gentle soul. She loved fresh grown tomatoes off the vine, Bill's chicken soup and just sitting on our patio and enjoying the view of nature. Our Grandchildren were the lucky recipients of her amazing quilts. We were blessed to have her in our lives. She is missed every day.
I had the privilege of working with Joyce at Door County Medical Center. It was the start of a lifelong friendship that I treasured. I have often said I learned more from Joyce than any other person. She inspired my passion for quilting - particularly “I Spy” quilts which I gift to children. She supported me and loved me unconditionally. I will always be grateful for having her in my life. My condolences to her family.
I always knew Joyce as Regal, classy, graceful, and loving. She was a great friend, coworker, and second mother to my wife Robin. I am a greatfull benefactor of Joyce’s canning lessons to my wife. Her beautiful quilts adorn our home including a Palmer Johnson quilt lovingly made from my old boating T shirts. I will always fondly remember our trips to visit Joyce and Tom in Lake Geneva and Florida, and great conversations with Mr B. RIP and God’s speed to you, we love and miss you Joyce. ❤️
