Joy Pedersen passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Helena, AL on September 16th, 2023. Joy was born in Neilburg, Saskatchewan on January 13th, 1950.

Joy lived a life of giving and caring for others. First and always through her natural approach to life and her deep-rooted belief in the power of family, and later through many endeavors such as her work with the Louisa M. McGregor Ovarian Cancer Foundation.

Joy is survived by her husband, Robin; son Rodney (Stephanie); grandchildren Audrey and Sienna; sisters Cheryl (Michael), Fay, Janice, Margaret (Jerry), and Beverly; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Joy is predeceased by her parents, Alex and Francis McAleer; brothers Ronald, Gerald, and Richard McAleer.

A funeral service for Joy will be held at Town Creek Cemetery in Auburn, AL on Saturday, October 14th at 11:00am followed by a celebration of life at The Auburn University Club at 1:00pm.

Donations in memory of Joy may be made to the Louisa M. McGregor Ovarian Cancer Foundation or the Glioblastoma Foundation.
