Joy's obituary

Joy Anita Fagan-Hitt (Miller) passed through the veil to her heavenly home on May 30 2023 at the age of 76. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thaddeous and Rachel Fagan, and her sister Evelyn June Howard. Joy is survived by her husband, Hugh, and her four adult children: Kitt, Christine, Jamie, and Aaleightha. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Joy was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1977. She received her endowment in the Salt Lake Temple in Utah. She spent several years serving in the Memphis Tennessee Temple and served two family history missions.

Joy had a number of vocations during her life, but her favorite was driving a truck in the late 1980s. However, her avocation was genealogy. She enjoyed helping others discover their family history. Before her stroke in 2021, Joy was working diligently toward becoming a certified genealogist through The International Institute for Genealogical Studies. Joy will be remembered for her passion for family history and her dedication to helping others discover their roots.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 10, at 4:00 pm in the chapel at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 211 Mayflower Road in Johnson City, TN, 37604. No flowers or gifts are necessary.
