Obituary

Joy “JoJo” Essence Crawford, 41, departed this life on Thursday May 11, 2023 at her residence in DeQuincy, LA.  She was born May 26, 1981, in Lake Charles, LA to Troy Chatman Sr and Nancy Lee Davis Rankins and raised by Edward Rankins after the passing of her mother. She was later raised by Carrie Lee Edwards and David Edwards in combination with Irma Jean Chatman.

 She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 15 years Michael Crawford, Sr.; father, Troy Chatman Sr of Mesquite. TX; two sons, Michael Crawford, Jr., and Bradley (Pamela) Crawford; four brothers Mark Eugene Rankins, Troy Chatman Jr, Justin Chatman and Brandon Chatman; three Godchildren, Paula Peltier, Hope Ned and Michael Lemelle and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Rankins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 11:00a.m., and funeral service at 12:00 p.m., both at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home, 205 E. Harrison St, DeQuincey, LA 70633.
