Jottyn (Joe) A. Soto, 57, passed away on August 1st 2021 at his residence in Ridgewood, New York. Joe was born in January 1964 in the San Carlos section of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He arrived the United States in 1975 and lived in Hoboken, New Jersey with his mother, brother, and adoptive father Fausto Soto until his late teens. During the 1980s, he was a great disco dancer and liked to spend time with his friends. He enjoyed working with his hands and began various construction jobs in several southeastern states until coming back north in his twenties. He met his wife Maryanne Amoroso in New York City in 1991 and had his only child Sara in 1992. He was a devoted father.

Through the years, Joe continued to work in the metal pre-construction industry until his passing. Until his mother’s passing in 2014, he often visited her in Hoboken or had her stay with him and his family for days at a time. He also visited his brother to watch major sporting events or help with house repairs. In his down time, Joe enjoyed watching documentaries of major historical events and liked to challenge friends and family with alternate possible scenarios about those events.

Viewing and visitation will be held at the Morton Funeral Home / Ridgewood Chapel on August 5, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on August 6, 2021 at Morton Funeral Home, leading to the St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.
