Joshua Dean Metcalfe, 45, of Brookfield, Illinois, passed away on March 31, 2026. Josh was born to parents Dean Metcalfe and Susan (Geye) Metcalfe, on February 25, 1981, in Aurora, Illinois.

Josh graduated from Oswego High School in 1999, earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Northern Illinois University in 2005, and went on to have a successful career as an IT Consultant. Josh was an avid gamer and maintained an extensive movie collection, with the Back to the Future trilogy being a favorite. He was a Cubs fan, loved Siberian Huskies and wolves, and liked to drive fast in his Subaru WRX. Conversations with Josh were always laced with his intelligent perspective and sense of humor, typically with an episode of Supernatural playing in the background. Josh was a loving son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by many.

Josh is survived by his brother, Justin Metcalfe, and was preceded in death by his father, Dean Metcalfe, and his mother, Susan (Geye) Metcalfe.

To celebrate Josh's life and the impact he had on his family and friends, we will gather on May 23, 2026 from 12pm–3pm at Mattone Restaurant, 9 East 31st Street, La Grange Park, Illinois 60526.
