Joshua's obituary
Joshua Joseph Calderon
1983 – 2025
Joshua Joseph Calderon, lovingly known as Josh, was born on November 6, 1982 and passed away on October 19, 2025, at the age of 42 in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by his wife Jenna Calderon and children Quinn, Livi, Rye and Echo.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Josh’s life was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to those around him. From an early age, he had a gift for bringing people together, both through food and conversation. That gift became a lifelong calling for him, when he went to the Culinary Institute of America to follow his passion for cooking. He studied at The Culinary Institute of America in both San Antonio and Hyde Park, New York.
Josh’s time in the kitchen was more than just a career — it was an extension of his heart. He believed that good food could comfort, connect, and heal. Every meal he made was a reflection of his generosity and his deep love for those he served. He carried that same spirit of care into everything he did, always ready to lend a hand, offer a laugh, or show up when someone needed him most.
A true Texan through and through, Josh loved cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs, often surrounded by friends, family, and plenty of good food. Music was another one of his great joys, especially the band Staind, whose songs were the soundtrack to many of his days. But above all, his heart belonged to his family.
Josh was a devoted husband to Jenna Calderon, and a proud, loving father to Quinn, Livi, Rye, and Echo, his four greatest blessings. He will also be deeply missed by his extended family and countless friends who will forever remember his generous spirit, quick humor, and unwavering kindness.
Josh will live on through his warmth, his humor, his deep loyalty, and his boundless hospitality. He had a way of making everyone feel like they were part of the family, whether you knew him for years or just met him over a shared meal. His memory will continue to inspire kindness and connection in everyone that knew him.
A rosary will be held on November 17 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. and a reception to follow. Friends and loved ones are invited to come together to honor Josh’s life, share memories, and celebrate the love he always gave so freely.
Though his time here was far too short, Josh’s impact will live on — in every meal shared, every laugh remembered and every act of generosity.
