Background
Jodie was a dedicated advisor, volunteer, and advocate for the Safe Parking program at Lake Washington UMC, which provides a safe haven for women and families living in their cars. This program addresses the unique challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness who rely on their vehicles for shelter, offering a secure place to park without fear of tickets or harassment. Beyond providing physical safety, Safe Parking fosters a sense of community and belonging, helping to break the isolation that often accompanies homelessness. Jodie deeply believed in the power of relationships and community to transform lives.
