Josephine's obituary

Josephine Garcia, age 59, passed away at home surrounded by love on May 8, 2024, after a courageous cancer battle. Josie was born on July 30, 1964 in Corpus Christi, Texas, to mother, Carmen Velasquez and father, Brijido Flores. She attended Foy H. Moody Highschool and Del Mar College of Corpus Christi.

She moved to Austin in 1989. Josie had a successful career as an Escrow Officer and considered her coworkers as family.

In her free time, Josie enjoyed seeing live music, and never missed an opportunity to see her favorite band, The Scorpions. She loved nights out with close friends, Mariachis, and family gatherings. Above all, Josie lived a life of faith in God and the Catholic church.

Josie is survived by her husband Jorge Garcia, her mother, Carmen Velasquez, son Issac San Miguel, daughter Paula Bedard, grandson Kelly Joe Cobb, and granddaughter Carmen Brown. She is preceded in death by her father, Brijido Flores, and brother Abel Flores whom she loved dearly.

Services will be held at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Pflugerville, TX on Friday May 31, 2024 at 4:30PM. In lieu of flowers, Josie asked that donations be made toward research for small cell lung cancer.  www.livelung.org is a non profit dedidcated to Small Cell Lung Cancer Research
