Joseph “Buddy” Valasek, age 82, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, at his home in New Lenox, Illinois, under hospice care, with his beloved wife of 45 years, Juanita Valasek (née Hinson), by his side.

Loving and devoted father to Timothy (Sharon) Valasek, Jacquelyn (the late Tyrone) Valasek-Knauz, Jennifer (Steve) Dennis, Erin (Enrico) Valasek-Bonnano, and stepson Greg(Cindy) Rogers.

Cherished Papa to Shawn, Kara, Jack, Paige, Luca, Colleen and Kerri and a proud great-grandfather of five.

Joseph was the loving brother of the late Joane (Ed) Tucker, the late Diane (Max) Kahle, Robert (the late Patty) Valasek, Lois (the late Ray) Hodos, Denise (Danny) Witunski, and Jenice (Jack) Strejc.

Affectionately known as "Uncle Buddy," he held a special place in the hearts of many nieces and nephews.

Known for his cheerful spirit and unwavering kindness, Buddy brought laughter and joy to every family gathering. His strong faith and warm presence touched all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.

A Church memorial service is being planned for a later date.
