Joseph's obituary

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Joseph John “Joey” Trollman, who died unexpectedly in Fenton, Michigan, on April 14, 2026, at the age of 46.

Joey was born in Flint, Michigan, on April 7, 1980, to Judith and Dr. Joseph L. Trollman. He grew up in Fenton surrounded by family and carried that love with him throughout his life. Joey graduated from Fenton High School and went on to become the proud owner of Runyan Lake Food Center, where he built more than a business — he built lasting friendships. He loved cooking and took great pride in feeding others, whether in his store or at home surrounded by family and friends.

Joey lived life to the fullest and had an incredibly generous heart. His happiest days were spent on the water at Runyan Lake, enjoying time with those he loved, or working in the garden alongside his parents. He found joy in music, in bringing people together, and had a natural ability to connect with others and make them smile. As a familiar and welcoming presence in the Fenton community, he made people feel seen, valued, and at home. His kindness, laughter, and big heart left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Above all, Joey’s greatest joy in life was being a father to his son. Together with his former wife, Sarah, he welcomed their son, Jojo, into the world — a blessing that became the center of his life. Being Jojo’s dad was his greatest pride and deepest purpose. Whether making memories on the lake, riding the trails, or sharing his love of motorsports, Joey treasured every moment they spent together. He didn’t just share his passions, he shared his time, his guidance, and a love that was constant and unconditional. The bond they built and the memories they created will forever reflect how deeply he loved his son.

He is survived by his parents; his sisters, Angela Jackson, Barbara Trollman, and Beth Trollman; his brothers, Chris Trollman and Eric Trollman; his former wife, Sarah (Chapin) Trollman; many nieces and nephews who adored him; and most especially his son, Joseph “Jojo” Trollman.

His kindness and joy were contagious, and he had a remarkable ability to bring warmth and laughter wherever he went. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10235 White Lake Rd., Fenton, MI. Family will receive visitors for viewing from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
