Joseph's obituary
Joseph F. Quigley, “Joe,” or “Quig” to those who knew him best, passed away on December 14, 2025, at the age of 64, due to complications of lung disease.
He was born on May 26, 1961, in Philadelphia to the late Joseph and Kathleen Quigley (née Gallagher).
Joe was raised in the Flat Iron section of Philadelphia on Tulip Street, in the heart of St. Anne’s Parish. He attended St. Anne’s School and later Northeast Catholic High School for Boys, graduating with the Class of 1979.
After high school, Joe worked for Pepsi for many years as a truck driver. Following his retirement from Pepsi, he worked as a casino valet at SugarHouse Casino and later joined SEPTA, where he served as a bus driver on Route 66.
Joe was known for his humor, quick wit, and talkative nature. He had an incredible gift for making everyone feel like an old friend. A devoted Rolling Stones enthusiast, Joe loved attending concerts or simply watching their videos on YouTube. In the summer, he enjoyed sitting in the yard, listening to his Walkman with a few beers. After the passing of his wife, Joe especially looked forward to weekly visits from his sister, Kathleen, who always made sure he had everything he needed and more.
Joseph F. Quigley was the beloved husband of the late Mary Beth Quigley; the devoted and loving father of Joseph F. Quigley III (Amber) and Maureen “Reenie” Quigley; and the adoring grandfather of little Joey. He was the cherished baby brother of Kathleen Roedell (John) and a loving uncle to “Little” John and Kathleen Roedell, as well as to his many nieces and nephews from the McLaughlin side, his extended family, and close friends.
The family will be holding services privately and appreciates all the love and support during this time.
