Joseph's obituary
Joseph Thomas Martorana, 48, of Fountain Hills, AZ, passed away 02 May 2023, after an unfortunate motorcycle accident in Phoenix.
Born 03 May 1974, surviving Joe/Joey are his wife, Ursula Diane-Martorana, sister and brother in-law, Lisa & Anthony Santori, nephew Anthony Santori Jr, brother Jerry Martorana, step sister Jackie Walker, aunt and uncle Sheri & Gene Rowls, and countless beloved friends.
Born in Los Angeles, California, his family spent the majority of his childhood in Holbrook, AZ before he settled into the Scottsdale / Fountain Hills area.
As the sole mobile mechanic of Fountain Hills, he owned and operated Dirty’s Mobile Mechanic. Many knew him by the nickname “Dirty”. He never complained about his long hours... he loved helping those in need, even periodically providing service to strangers free of charge, asking only that they “pay it forward”. Always positive and full of life, charismatic and charming, he was known for his generosity and gratuity practices, always claiming he was blessed. Consistent gratitude impacted his life, spilling over onto so many others.
Joe’s passion was riding his Harley. He rode everywhere possible. Secondary hobbies were 4-wheeling, bicycling, fishing, darts, target shooting, kiting, drones, car shows, social media, good music, and great friends. He was young at heart, exceptionally fit, intelligent, enthusiastic, determined, was detail and goal oriented... working hard and playing even harder. He was an avid collector and his knack for finding a good bargain was a constant thrill. He loved his cigars and comically left a trail of ashes everywhere he went. He had perfected the grilling of surf and turf down to an art. He took great pleasure in constantly gifting those closest to him. A character adored by many, friendly and talkative to everyone, people of all diversities were drawn to him. He loved so many, and lives on in our hearts forever. He frequently reminded us, “I’m here for a good time, not a long time.” He would have been 49 years old.
Mr Martorana’s organs were donated. The following day / his birthday, both kidneys were transplanted into two separate gentlemen, thereby gifting life to these fortunate recipients and their families. Spiritually, likewise physically, Joe lives on.
Services are private. We ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this time. A Celebration of Life will take place by invitation only, to be announced. Rest in peace Joey.
