"Vic" Joseph's obituary

Joseph Victor Cyril (Vic) Mailhiot, aged 77 of Merritt, BC, passed away July 13, 2020 @ Ponderosa Lodge, Long Term Care home, Kamloops, BC.
He was born August 15, 1942 to Oscar and Alice (Gervais) Mailhiot and 12 brothers and sisters in Alida, Saskatchewan.
He worked as a backhoe operator for most of his life while running his own business and for many years contracting his services to the City of Vancouver and for snow removal. He moved to British Columbia as a young man and raised his family in Vancouver. Once retired and his business closed, he relocated to Merritt, BC. He was very much a family man, staying in contact with siblings, nieces and nephews and his grown children. He was a man with a big heart always willing to help out anyone, whether it was for somewhere to stay, help with fixing something or getting someone back on their feet. He loved to go camping and fishing, many family weekends were spent camped next to a lake or the ocean; days spent on the water and evenings spent in front of a fire.
He is survived by two sisters; Millie and Matilda, his two children; Cheri and David, three grandchildren; Kristin, Katherine and Aidan.
A Celebration of life will be held on August 15, 2020 in Langley, BC. P

Graveside service to be held September 11, 2021 at 12:00 at Cantal Cemetery.
