Remembering Captain Joseph P. Lampich~

Joe was a decorated USMC veteran who served with distinction in the Vietnam War, earning the Bronze Star Medal for his heroic actions. A true American hero, he embodied selflessness, integrity, and patriotism.

Beyond his impressive military record Joe’s life was a testament to adventure, love, and laughter. He cherished his family, embraced new experiences, and lived life to the fullest. His infectious laughter, quick wit, and generous spirit inspired countless lives.

Joe was an exceptional Outdoorsman he loved Hunting and Fishing. These hunting expeditions took him to a few different continents as well as many, many states in the US.

In his youth Joe, would hunt with his good friend Bill Bryson who lived down the street. Bryson’s grandfather owned a nearby farm and they would go there to hunt.

He was an active member of the Conservation, Fishing and Hunting Club, biology club, and Spanish club during his time at Aliquippa High School in Pennsylvania (Class of 1964). To raise funds for the club members Joe would box trap cottontail rabbits for the Pennsylvania Game Commission. The commission would pay the club $.50 for each live rabbit that he turned into the commission. The commission would release the rabbits into more heavily wooded areas of the state.

At Youngstown University in Ohio (Class of 1969 ) He earned a business degree. While at his alma mater Joe served as the treasure of the Phi Kapa Tau fraternity, he was a charter member of the Gamma Pi Chapter.

He joined the officer training program during the 1967-1968 school year and went to boot camp the summer before he graduated from college. After graduation He then went to OCS in Quantico where he was commissioned into the USMC as an officer to serve in the Vietnam War.

During the war he was hut mates with Captain Joseph T. Jordan. They became lifelong friends, hunting buddies and in 1972 became family when Joe married Joe's daughter Sandee.

Joe and Sandee life was enriched because they had so many wonderful friends across the United States.

Joe excelled in the business world managing different paper plants coast to coast.

A dedicated father, Joe was deeply invested in his children's lives. He prioritized attending every sports event, often driving straight from work, no matter the distance. He cherished family dinners, gathering around the kitchen table to share stories and discuss the day's events. His children admired and respected him, learning valuable life lessons from his exemplary leadership and character.

After retiring, Joe and Sandee returned to El Dorado Hills, California, where they had nurtured wonderful friendships since 1994. They cherished their social connections, enjoying annual concert series, dinner clubs, and evening bridge games with dear friends.

As a loving husband, father, and friend, Joe left an indelible mark on those around him. He is survived by his loving family:

- Sandee, his wife of 52 years, of El Dorado Hills, CA

- Daughter Shawna Lampich of San Diego, CA , Son Joseph Michael Lampich and daughter-in-law Tiffany Hobelman of Simi Valley, CA

- Siblings Richard (Barbra) Lampich of Lakewood Ranch, FL, and sister Joann (Ed) Adamchik of Pittsburgh, PA

- Nieces Amy (Tom) Boyer of Seattle WA, Laura (Jimmy) Kalp of Wolcott, VT, Michelle (Al) Minjock of Sarasota,FL and his Goddaughter Marybeth Adamchick of Alexandria, VA

-Grand nieces, and nephews Brody, Jackson, Reilly and Hayden Boyer, Quinn and Charlie Kalp
