Joe's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Joseph “Joe” Koury on April 5, 2026. Born on October 14, 1965, to Patricia and Norm Koury, Joe lived a life defined by compassion, dedication, and an enduring love for his family.

Joe shared a beautiful life with his wife Diana Koury. They shared 38 wonderful years together, including 32 years of marriage. Their story was one of love,  commitment, and true partnership, a bond that carried them through every chapter of life together.

Joe’s spirit will live on in the hearts of his cherished family. He is cherished by his devoted wife, Diana; his loving children, Nicole (deceased), Joseph Jr. (Carmen), Brittney, and Matthew; and his adored grandchildren, Annalise, Alaina, Layla, and Jamar Jr., who truly stole his heart. He was a dear uncle to Forrest (deceased),Michelle (Bob), and Alisha (Rob); a cherished great-uncle to 4 ; and a beloved brother-in-law to Donna & Danny. He was preceded in death by his parents , grandparents and mother & father in law .

Joe was a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially when shared with those he loved. He loved heading to a Cleveland Indians game to cheer on the tribe ,and cherished time spent outdoors , especially fishing, often with his grandchildren by his side. Family vacations were filled with camping trips and quiet moments in nature, reflecting his belief that family always comes first, a value he lived by every day.

Charismatic and warm, Joe had a gift for making friends wherever he went. His infectious smile and generous spirit drew people to him, and he was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. Above all, he took immense pride in his children and grandchildren, whom he often described as his greatest blessings.

The phrase “Joe has gone fishing” perfectly captures his spirit, his love of the outdoors, his appreciation for life’s simple joys, and the peace he found in those moments. His legacy of love, generosity, and devotion will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
