Joseph "Joe"'s obituary
Joseph "Joe" William Reichart, a beloved son, brother, father and friend, passed away unexpectedly on November 19, 2024, at the age of 29. Born on December 12, 1994, in Hardin, Montana, he moved to Billings as a young adult and remained there until his passing. He was often affectionately referred to as Little Joe, but mostly Joe or Joseph.
Joseph was known for his warm heart, weird sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. He displayed a giving, compassionate nature from an early age. He was always so thoughtful, sharing things with others simply acting out of kindness. He continued to exhibit this kind of friendly demeanor to the best of his ability for the rest of his life. He was raised living with his Mom & sister, but friends and family stepped in to help. He'd lost his father when he was two years old and throughout time, claimed the role of the young man of the house. He enjoyed helping others and was quite a handy man. He purposely carried tools around with him in his vehicle and was always stepping in to fix things.
He developed a passion for mechanics at a young age. He loved to put model cars and motorcycles together. As he grew older, he spent a lot of time with his Dad's best friend, Leroy, learning how to work on cars, fish, camp and just how to be the best you can be. Leroy became the father figure that he needed in his life. Joseph loved to spend time working in garages with close friends, enjoying their good company. He worked on his cars, friend's cars, family's cars, everybody's cars. Countless times, he dropped what he was doing to help family & friends when they broke down. He always did his best and it went far past working on vehicles. He also had a gun hobby and obtained his concealed carry license. He acquired a gun collection over the years and enjoyed going shooting with friends. He spent his downtime gaming on his Play Station, where he developed long-lasting friendships with his brothers, as he referred to them. Aside from these hobbies and skill sets, he was not a very materialistic person. He did like to impress people by dressing up in coat and tie, showing off his snake skin boots that made him walk even taller than he already did, to go out on dates to nice restaurants. He'd even rent a flashy car to drive around in, grinning from ear to ear as he'd pull up in it.
Not being overly social, he kept a small circle of friends and stayed close to his family. He portrayed a strong silent type to most people, but he truly had a sensitive, big caring heart. Being personable in good quality, not quantity, was important to him. He didn't always show his feelings, but if you were close to him, you knew that he cared deeply for you. He had an especially close relationship with his Mom and would often spend time with her, just hanging out and talking, if he wasn't looking for things to be fixed. He was very protective and always made sure she was safe.
Joseph had a very close relationship with his nephew, Eli, who also lost his father at a young age. He took Eli under his wing, spending a lot of time together doing guy stuff, playing video games, working in the shop, going out to eat and shooting at the gun range. He took pride in being there for Eli, passing along his knowledge of auto mechanics and various other life teachings.
He was incredibly blessed by the birth of his daughter, Jolene. She gave rise to a whole new level of love, gifting him the experience of Fatherhood. He loved Jolene so very much and she brought him many smiles, laughter and joy that he carried in his heart. He was truly at peace in her presence, and it showed by the light in his eyes. He continues to live on through her many characteristics and funny facial expressions she has inherited from him and through the hearts of all who loved him so very much.
Besides Joseph's immediate family, there were people that impacted his life in a very special way and were his extended family. Charlie Olenick, Leroy & Tawnya Wehner, Jeremiah Johnston, Austin Catlin, Kevin Norman, Hayden Moore, his gaming brothers, the mother of his beautiful daughter, Julia Lober, and more. He loved all of you so much and treasured your place in his life.
Joseph is survived by his mother, Tracy Webb, his sisters, Jennifer Fruichantie, Tes Reichart & Family, Frankee Reichart & Family, his nephew Eli Van Hook, his grandmother Barbara Greenwalt-Miller, his daughter Jolene Marjorie Reichart, his many uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Joe William Reichart, grandparents Glenn McCormick, Patricia & Jerry Webb and his great-grandparents.
A small family viewing and cremation have already taken place. In the spring, a memorial service to celebrate Joseph's life will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Hardin. The gathering place after will be determined at a later date. All family and friends will be notified.
Joseph "Joe" William Reichart's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will forever be remembered and cherished. His family would like to thank everyone for their warm wishes, messages, prayers, hugs and the love they shared during this difficult time.
