It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Roberts, a beloved son, brother, cousin, and friend. Joseph was born on November 26, 1992, and left this world too soon on April 22, 2023.

Joseph is survived by his mother, Cynthia Roberts; his sisters, Khadeejah and Keihanna McCullar; his brother, Ben Roberts; and his cousins, Larissa and Anthony Roberts. He is predeceased by his cherished grandmother, Elvia Roberts.

A memorial service for Joseph will be held on May 20, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Riverdale's Memorial Funeral Home. As we come together to celebrate his life, we remember the sweet, quiet, and humble man that he was. Though he faced challenges with paranoia schizophrenia and was a mental health patient, Joseph always strove to share kindness, understanding, and forgiveness with others.

Joseph taught us all valuable lessons, such as being kind to one another, never judging a book by its cover, and giving people a chance no matter their past or circumstances. He believed in the power of forgiveness and encouraged us to remember the good in people even amid their mistakes.

Some of Joseph's greatest accomplishments were the small but powerful acts of love he offered to those around him. He made a conscious effort to be a better person each day, to put a smile on the faces of those he loved, and to offer help and support when needed.

Joseph's legacy is one of kindness, generosity, forgiveness, and gratitude towards others. He was a bright light in the lives of those who knew him and will always be remembered and respected as the kind, beautiful human that he was. As we honor his memory, we also pledge to be advocates for mental health awareness and to carry the lessons he taught us into our own lives.
