I know this is a late rememberence, but Joe was someone who always had a place in my memories and heart. May he rest in peace.

Anita
I met Joe in high school, sometime. Don't remember the circumstances. I was a grade behind him. But knew several guys of that "group" Jeff Hatcher, Andrew Philips, Howard Blum.. But I remember we had good interesting discussions of far out nature, like Erik Von Daniken/ Chariot of the Gods, Inca/Maya /Aztec/Egyptian common influences while thousands of miles apart, etc. We stayed in touch after high school, then worked some concerts together for Bill Semineau. Then I moved out from a girl friends house and moved in with Joe, in an apartment on Stanford SE. I moved on but we were roommates again, a few years later; he came lived in a house I owned on Valencia SE. Years later he bought a house on NE Montclair, in which I converted the garage into another living space. Many stories of our interactions, staying friends,, talking motorcycles, playing music,, women, etc. I never saw him again after he went to prison. I thought of him often, and was really bummed when I heard he'd passed. Good dude, Lotta years, Lotta water under the bridge , together.. Good memories. Rest easy Joe.

Joe was my best friend in school. The first time I saw him we were 6 years old watching the same flood coming down the arroyo from a mountain shower. But we were on opposite sides and couldn't cross the water. We didn't actually meet until one day on the playground of Montgomery elementary in 2nd grade. We were were friends ever since and basically did everything together. I remember Joe was always building something or fixing something that was broken. Joe loved adventure and very chance he could get he would go exploring. I was with him the first time I went to tent rocks, the Jemez, the Sandia Crest and too many places to mention. Joe was a free spirit and I am very happy to have known him. RIP old friend.
