Joe (my brother) and I met 35 years ago and became best friends. To my daughter, he was Uncle Joe, and Brother Joe to my wife. I will miss our weekly calls and the fun times we shared.
Keep his memories and legacy alive forever. I will miss my friend. Rest in peace. Gone to soon.

Joe and I often talked about the importance of family and family is more than by blood. I will truly miss him.
Coming up as a child, I always admired you and over time, I grew to view you as my family. You always welcomed me into your home with love and would always remind me that I was your "Chocolate child". That's how you would always greet me "There goes my chocolate child" and would give me a great big hug. I can remember graduating from college and was very honored to see that you traveled all the way to North Carolina to see me graduate. You made it when my own father could not. My heart was filled with joy and happiness. Joe, you were very wise and you didn't mind sharing your life experiences to show a different perspective on life. I truly enjoyed those conversations when visiting your home. You worked hard, planted fruitful seeds, and you stood strong through the obstacles you encountered in your lifetime. I admired you for this and respected you like a father that you are! Your story is genuine, real and full of substance for reflection. I was able to spend time with you and the family on the Ranch and there too, I learned so much about history and many other things you faced during your lifetime. You touched my heart and was full of laughter. There was a time on the Ranch, I woke up before everyone, to stretch and do Yoga in one of the Foyer areas. You came into the room, laughed and said "Peaches, what are you doing?" I looked up and said, stretching and my own style of Yoga! You laughed and joined me! That was Super Cool! We talked about God, meditation, eating right and how happy you were about the Ranch. You also expressed that you wanted to enjoy the Ranch for the rest of your days. I am so happy and proud that you were able to achieve all of your goals 10 fold and enjoy each blessings as a Black, Brown, African American Man. You accomplished tasks that are worth a standing ovation. Today, I stand to honor you Joseph Dean Griffin Sr. I love you, thanks for always welcoming me into your family and your home! God Bless you, as you walk in the house of the Lord, Forever! You will be missed and never forgotten. Your legacy will live on!- Your Chocolate Child, Peaches
My “brother Joe”. I meet so many people as a minister/pastor, and I am blessed by them all in some way. When I met brother Joe, we became friends right away and he added value to my life immediately. He would stop by the church from time to time and we would talk. I always wanted to ride in that pretty Caddy! 😊 I’m glad we stayed in touch after I moved. He would text me questions and I was glad to respond. I texted him a week before his departure ... he texted back wish me and my family well! A great brother! I’ll miss him. Much love!❤️🙏🏾
One of the things I admire most about Joe was when our father passed away he was quick to step up and take over that role for his three younger siblings I've always admired and looked up to Joe he was a role model for me and I will always love and respect him for that May he Rest In Peace....

I've always been proud of you…
I've always been proud of you, Dad- Proud of the man you are, the way you live, and the way you take care of people. You're my picture of what it looks like to be kind, to be brave, to lean into a challenge and give your best, no matter what. And lucky for me, those were things you wanted your daughter not only to see but to learn and take to heart, too. So thank you for setting the bar high, believing I could reach it, and showing me how it's done. Thank you for raising me to be someone you could be proud of, too. I love and appreciate you so much. Your Son/Daughter Crystal ;-)>
