Joseph “Jay” Wilfred Furbert born December 13th 1950 in Hartford, CT. After graduating high school in Connecticut he went on to serve in the Army during the Vietnam War, he served for 7 years before joining the Navy where he traveled the world for 16 years before retiring in Washington in 1992. He later moved to San Diego,CA where he attended nursing school and met his wife Rachel Furbert in 1998, they were married in 1999 in Las Vegas and went on to spend the next 25 years of their lives together. He is survived by his wife Rachel Furbert, his daughter Lorraine James, and his grandchildren, Jared James, Christian James, Melody James. At 74 years old on June 7th 2025, Jay went home to the Lord and his family that were gone before him, we know that he was welcomed with open arms.
