Joe's obituary
Joseph Lloyd Dairy
November 10, 1954 – March 1, 2025
Joseph Lloyd Dairy, age 70, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, at OHSU hospital in Portland, Oregon. Though his earthly body has found rest, we take comfort knowing he is now fully healed in the arms of Jesus.
Joe was born in Victorville, California, to Frank Dairy and Nona McCormick on November 10, 1954. He was raised by Frank and Mae Dairy and Nona and John McCoy. He grew up with a total of 14 siblings, sharing a bond that carried them through the years. His life was one of deep love, quiet strength, and unwavering faith, a legacy he instilled in his family.
He was married to Joan Dairy, whom he cherished deeply through 35 years of companionship and love. Joe had six children, which he found immense pride. Joe’s love for his family was evident in everything he did, from the way he led by example to the way he cared for those around him.
Joe also found joy in the small things. He loved sharing stories around the campfire with his children, enjoying time fishing, watching Seattle Mariners and Oregon State baseball or spending time playing with his five-month-old Aussie Doodle, Laney. He also enjoyed family trips to Steens Mountain and the many National Parks he visited throughout his life. Joe taught his children to be stewards in nature and all of God's wonderful creation.
Joe was heavily involved with youth sports throughout his whole adult life. Joe coached baseball, football, and lacrosse, creating lasting memories with the young athletes he dedicated his time to. He also supported his children through all other activities they participated in.
While we grieve his passing, we rejoice in the truth that he is now whole, free from pain, and reunited with his savior, Jesus Christ. His life was a testament to faith, endurance, love, and though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Joe is survived by his wife Joan Dairy, his children Kevin, Jedidiah, Jared, Cade, Lucas, and Rachel, and his siblings Kris (Hoffman) Horn, Sally (Hoffman) Whisenhunt, and Peter McCoy, his grandchildren Kaitlynne and Kelley, great grandchild, Remi, as well as many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
A celebration of life service will be held at New Hope Church in Bend, Oregon. The service will be March 22nd at 1 pm and will be open to family and friends. In place of flowers, the family asks that you cheer on the Oregon State Beavers and Seattle Mariners.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”- 2 Timothy 4:7
