Joseph's obituary

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Clayton Kaufman, who left this world on May 10th, 2024, at the age of 57. Joe was born on February 15, 1967, in Moberly, Missouri, to Jerry Kaufman and Diana Williams.

Joe was a loving and devoted husband to Melissa, a cherished father to his daughter Lauren, and a caring stepfather to Shelby, Hunter, and Britney. He was a beloved brother to Kimberly Kaufman and Jerry Kaufman, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Joe's life was filled with passions that he enthusiastically shared with those around him. He found immense joy in watching his daughter swim, and he was an avid fan of the Seahawks, Steelers, and Huskies. A true Star Wars aficionado, Joe also had a deep appreciation for music, with Tool being his favorite band.

He had a remarkable career, initially working in construction and contributing to the Seattle skyline with numerous buildings that he took great pride in. Joe was known to eagerly point out and recount the stories behind the structures he helped to create. At the time of his passing, Joe was employed by FEMA, where he continued to make a positive impact through his work.

A social and curious individual, Joe loved engaging in conversations and learning about the lives of others. His warmth and genuine interest endeared him to many, and he formed countless friendships throughout his life. Joe also had a green thumb and spent many happy hours tending to his plants and garden, finding solace and satisfaction in nurturing life.

Joe's culinary skills were well-regarded, and he enjoyed preparing delicious meals for his family and friends. Joe had a deep love for the state of Washington, cherishing its natural beauty and vibrant communities.

Though Joe's life ended tragically, the memories of his kindness, love, and the joy he brought into the lives of others will remain. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

A memorial service will be held to honor Joe's life and legacy. Donations can be made to the family at www.everloved.com

Rest in peace, Joe. You will be forever missed and always remembered.
