I share the same last name as his first.. He  has been a great mentor to me in my initial time as an IT BA on the Radiant Project while he was the MBIO BA for our team.. I felt the comfort to go and ask all the dumb questions. Today what I am, is partly because of him mentoring me. He loved to give Hugs, his hugs were bear hugs to me cause i'm a small guy 5'3". I told him back home in India there is a phrase which is called Jaadu ki Jhappi "Magic in Hugs" which would take away all troubles just with a hug.. He had that.  Thanks Joe for always being there.. i regret not coming to your Farm in Farmville, though i saw all the pics of it on your phone. Miss your smile and the time you shared with us. you will always be in my heart.

This is heartbreaking news! Joe was a great guy, always had a smile, a friendly hello, a hug… an all around wonderful person.  We worked together in Correspondent Lending, we both went to other areas within SunTrust now Truist. I would still see Joe at the Riverview location and it was always a joyful occasion seeing that smile.  Joe you will be missed by many, as you touched many.  My condolences to your family and I will keep them in my prayers!  Rest In Peace Joe! 🙏🏻
I cannot believe he is gone.  Loved him like a brother.  Was the first and best friend  I made at SunTrust.  Every time we saw each other we hugged like brothers.  I will never forget you Joe

During what was probably the most stressful, work over-loaded time of all of my 20+ years with SunTrust, referred to as the "Radiant" project, Joe was right there with me the whole way, constantly making me laugh.
He always had a smile and a special way to make you feel better.
I am truly sorry for your loss, and he will be greatly missed.
I am so sorry to hear about Joe’s passing. I worked with Joe a couple of years ago and when I started with SunTrust/Truist, I was introduced to Joe and we hit it off immediately. The sarcastic banter between us always made me laugh. Our conversations were about family - how much he loved and cared for his, life and random, useless information. When I heard the news, I was truly heartbroken. Not only for the world to have lost such a contagious soul but for his family, who he adored. To the Brinkley family, my sincere condolences for your tremendous loss. ❤️
Lil brother, From the first t…

Lil brother,

From the first time I rocked you to sleep I knew you were special. You were one of the best humans to walk this earth. You were most definitely the funniest!! I loved how happy go lucky you were & I promise to try to be more like you going forward. I always wanted siblings, so when you snd Diane entered my life I was over the moon happy. My kids love you so much. I love you so much. I am so proud of you and what you accomplished in life. Your family, your work, and The Farm!! I wish you could the outpouring of love. I wish you could see the stories that have made me laugh till I have cried. I can only imagine the in person stories I will hear when I meet the village of people you created. Valhalla my sweet brother. Valhalla. ❤️

Tara, Joe, our friend Sarah, and I used to have lunch together every day in the SunTrust Cafe. Joe was in charge of taking care of us, since we were all having babies around the same time. He did this as you can imagine with grace and lots of humor. He used to say people teased him about his obsession with zombies. But his belief was he was overly prepared for the zombie apocalypse.

To quote him, he say “you make fun of me now, but when the zombie apocalypse happens who are you going to be running to? This guy!”, pointing at himself. He always had us in stitches. He was the first person we’d call if we needed anything ever.

Prayers for Tara and the kids. Joe was talking to me about Harrison’s band fundraiser last week. He was such a great coworker and friend. Always there to help with a problem personally or professionally. I am forever grateful our paths crossed, for the laughs, and for always there to lend an ear.

I would always get a good laugh when I hadn’t talked to him in a while, we would be in a meeting together unexpectedly and he would IM me telling me to “get off his meeting”. No matter the day he could always put a smile on anyone’s face.
