How you can help

Beal loved the NC State Fair and spent most of his life enjoying his hobby of running the food stand “Bartholomew’s” where he served hot dogs, corn dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob, fries and drinks. When he started at the age of 23, he was the youngest person to own a booth at the NC State Fair. He spent the next 60 years running and operating his stand with friends and family. So much of his life was at the fairgrounds, meeting and talking to people, forming long lasting friendships, laughing with both family and friends and just enjoying life. We all have so many fond memories of the times our family and friends spent there that we want to raise money in his memory to ultimately donate to the NC State Fair directly or potentially sponsor a plaque in his name which may be available with the new construction next year. That way he will always have a spot at the NC State fairgrounds and continue to be a part of something that he loved dearly. We appreciate any donation you see fit to help us achieve this goal.
