Joseph's obituary

Joseph Gregory Barnett, 51, passed away peacefully in the hospital on December 19, 2022. At the time he was accompanied by his sister and nephew. He was able to visit with his mother, aunt, niece, and brother-in-law before he passed, as well as hear from many of his loved ones. Joe grew up in the tri-cities area, and while he often moved for work, he always made this location his home. Joe was an intelligent and talented individual; he worked as a programmer for Charter Communications, and was always willing to pass on his skills and knowledge to others. He will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Joseph was predeceased by his father Carmack Barnett. He is survived by his mother Judy Barnett, his sister and brother-in-law Shari and Bob Hebner, as well his nephew and niece Destin and Daelin Hebner. As per his requests, a memorial service celebrating his life will be held as opposed to traditional funeral services. We hope all of Joe’s friends and loved ones can join us in celebrating his life at the Heritage Events Center in Jonesborough TN on January 6th at 4:00PM. The address is 161 Molly Grayce Lane, Jonesborough, TN 37659, and we welcome all of those who knew Joe to attend. Joe was a member of South Side Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, you may instead donate to a charity of your choice.
