Joseph's obituary
Joseph Chichester, a man known for his love, kindness, and an extraordinary heart of gold, passed away on November 12, 2024. From the day he was born, January 5, 2005, he began to touch our souls. As a child, Joseph, fondly known as Jojo, was a sweet son, brother, nephew, and grandchild to people young and old. Many watched as Jojo established his strong personality from the moment he began to walk and talk. Jojo graduated from Bremerton High School, in 2023. With a passion for helping others, he started working at the Hazelwood YMCA in 2021 as a lifeguard. Jojo was a hard worker- helping his father transform yards, aiding his mother with the chores, volunteering whenever a job needed to be done. His strong work ethic and contributions to his community were greatly appreciated by those who knew him.
A man of diverse interests and flavor, Jojo's favorite foods included California burritos and flaming hot cheetos. He was an avid listener of all kinds of music, ranging from the beetles to radiohead and Joji. He relished spending countless hours with his siblings Hannah and Michael. His keen interest in photography was visible in the way he skillfully captured moments that were dear to him, from delicately framed pictures of flora and fauna to silly videos of the siblings he loved so much. Above all, Jojo cherished spending time with his family, a recreational activity that held the highest place in his heart. He held a deep fascination for nature- waterfalls, rivers, flowers, the moon and stars. He frequented local spots that included the roller hockey rink in Bremerton, the Kitsap Flires track, Hazelwood ymca, and anywhere his family was.
Jojo's personality was best described as a soft soul with immense love for his family, especially his two nieces, Hazel and Marissa. His greatest lesson to all was the power of kindness. He taught people, both through his words and actions, how to stand up for themselves, to take full advantage of every moment of every day and the importance of being kind to each other. Jojo will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the community that he so actively served. We love you, Jojo.
