Gino's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Jose "Gino" Lopez on April 24, 2024. Born in 1938, Gino was a beloved husband, father, and friend who filled our lives with laughter and joy.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Blanca Lopez, his cherished son, Jose Lopez, his daughter, Elizabeth Lopez, step-sons Johann, Michael, and Christian Berenguer, grandchildren Alyssa, Brandon, Sophia, and Lourdes, and his beloved Frenchie “Cookie”. Gino’s absence will be deeply felt within their close-knit family and they will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
A man of vibrant personality, Gino was often described as the life of the party. His infectious laughter was legendary, filling up rooms and warming hearts. Always smartly dressed, Gino stood out not just for his impeccable style but also for his vivacious spirit.
Among his favorite pastimes, Gino enjoyed dancing—his movements a beautiful expression of his zest for life. A regular at the gym, he believed in the importance of exercise for health and well-being. His favorite drink, the White Russian, was a signature part of his sophisticated palate. His idea of an ideal vacation was embarking on scenic cruises, where he found peace in the vastness of the sea.
Ever the optimist, Gino lived by the motto, "Live like there is no tomorrow but save money just in case." This simple yet profound lesson speaks volumes about his approach to life—full of enthusiasm yet balanced with practicality.
Most of all, Gino will be missed dearly by his wife, Blanca. His love and warmth enriched her life in countless ways and losing him is a heartbreak that words cannot describe.
A funeral service for Gino will be held on May 12, 2024, at 12:00 AM at the Maspons Funeral Home. We invite all those who were touched by Gino's life to join us in celebrating his memory. His laughter, his stories, and his wisdom will continue to live on through the love he shared with us.
