Jose's obituary

Jose “Pepe/ Joe” Quinagon, 86, of Sugar Land, Texas, peacefully passed away on December 15, 2025, after months of deep grief following the loss of his beloved wife, Gloria. His passing continues a beautiful chapter of love, devotion, and quiet strength, as it reunites him with the woman he cherished for more than six decades.

Born to Alejandro and Amada Quinagon, Jose was a hardworking, diligent, and determined boy from the very beginning. At just six years old, he worked at the fish market selling fish—standing among grown men, waking before sunrise, and learning the value of responsibility and perseverance. These early experiences shaped him into the strong, humble, and generous man his family and friends came to know as "Pepe/Joe".

Jose was fiercely passionate about family. After graduating, he landed his first job at "U-Tex", beginning a long and steady career in the textile industry as an accountant and quality assurance specialist. In 1964, he met the love of his life, Gloria P. Quinagon, and together they built a family rooted in faith, sacrifice, and unconditional love. They went on to raise five children, and Jose put family first every single day. Later pursued careers in marketing, health care, dentistry, education, and business—each carrying forward the work ethic and values he instilled in them.

Jose was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father, whose wisdom and guidance formed the foundation of his family. To his grandchildren, he was a source of joy, laughter, and gentle affection. To his friends, he was loyal and dependable. To everyone, he was "Pepe/ Joe" and "Lolo" to his grandchildren—a man who lived, loved deeply, and gave generously.

He was also a man of many passions. Jose was a great cook, known for meals that brought everyone together. He was a dedicated gardener, tending to his plants with patience and pride. He was a fisherman, finding peace in the quiet rhythm of the water. And he loved karaoke—even though he didn’t have the best singing voice, he sang with so much heart that he always made others smile. In his retirement, he devoted himself to caring for his wife, especially during her final years. Her passing on July 11, 2025, left a deep ache in him, and he longed for her every day until he joined her in eternal rest.

Jose was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria P. Quinagon; his parents, Alejandro and Amada Quinagon; siblings Adriano Quinagon, Maxima de Vera, Encarnacion Bautista, Alfredo Quinagon, and Salvador Quinagon; and his in-laws, Froilan and Felicisima Parado.

He is survived by his five children:

- Svetlana Thillier (spouse Nicolas)

- Michelle Quinagon

- Cherylle Hicks (spouse Daren)

- Jam Lopez (spouse Jaime)

- Valerie McMahon (spouse Brendan)

He also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren:

Raizel (spouse Charles) dela Cerna, Laurene Thillier, Jared Olivar, Riston dela Cerna, Schuyler Olivar, Anais Thillier, Ransley dela Cerna, Charlize Lopez, Milena Hicks, Cassiopeia McMahon, Haven Lopez, and Prometheus McMahon.

 Siblings:

Aurelia Giron, Trinidad Mina, Wilfredo Quinagon and Victoriana Amparado.

Jose “Pepe/ Joe” Quinagon lived a life of love, humility, and unwavering devotion. His legacy will continue in the hearts of all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to assist with funeral expenses.
