Hi all, I am Shauna, José's fiancé. We are raising funds to host a memorial service where everyone that loved his is welcome. On 2/7/22 he was fishing with his cousins near Muir Beach and was knocked off of a rock by a sneaker wave. His cousin tried to save him but was unsuccessful. The US Coast Guard was unable to locate him after 18 hours, even with the help of Marin County Sherriff's dept., the National Parks Service (NPS), and CHP. NPS continued their search from the shore, while the family is also searched by land and sea. He was found just before sundown on 2/11/22 on the shore near the accident cite. Now we will be able to bring him home to his family in Honduras. Before that, we want to host a memorial to give everyone an opportunity to say goodbye. These funds will help pay for that service and for additional expenses of getting him back to his mother. Thank you all for the love and support.
Hola a todos, soy Shauna, la prometida de José. Estamos recaudando fondos para organizar un servicio conmemorativo en el que todos los que amaban a los suyos sean bienvenidos. El 7/2/22 estaba pescando con sus primos cerca de Muir Beach y una ola de zapatillas lo tiró de una roca. Su primo trató de salvarlo pero no tuvo éxito. La Guardia Costera de EE. UU. no pudo localizarlo después de 18 horas, incluso con la ayuda del departamento del alguacil del condado de Marin, el Servicio de Parques Nacionales (NPS) y CHP. NPS continuaron su búsqueda desde la costa, mientras que la familia también buscaron por tierra y mar. Fue encontrado antes de la puesta del sol el 11/02/22 en la orilla cerca de la cita del accidente. Ahora podremos llevarlo a casa con su familia en Honduras. Mientras tanto, ya sea que lo encontremos o no, queremos organizar un memorial para darles a todos la oportunidad de despedirse.
