Jose Luis Sanchez passed away in his home in Merced, California on April 29, 2025.

Joe was born in San Diego, Texas on October 9, 1954. After a childhood spent on the baseball field, Joe graduated from Ray High School and joined the US Air Force. He then went on to spend nearly 30 years at various positions at CCAD in support of our freedom. After leaving CCAD, he spent time working with Sikorsky Helicopters and AirMethods Air Medical services. In his retirement, he kept his eyes skyward with a prized collection of model aircraft.

During his children’s younger years, Joe volunteered significant amounts of his time as a youth sports coach, umpire, and referee for basketball, kickball and softball.

He is preceded in death by his parents Bartolo and Concepcion Sanchez, and brother Ramon M Sanchez. He is survived by wife Guillermina, daughter Danielle Taylor (Fabian), son Joseph (Kimberly), three grandsons, Samuel, Liam, and Dean; brothers Bartolo Jr. (Alicia), Sabas (Linda), sister Cleo(Albert); and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
