Obituary for Jose Delamora
Jose Delamora, age 75, of Wonder Lake, Illinois, passed away on February 10, 2026.
Jose was a remarkable man — a man who truly came from a humble upbringing and never took a single blessing for granted. He lived with deep appreciation for all he had, standing firmly in his beliefs and always putting others before himself. He was the rock of his family, a steady presence of strength, love, and unwavering character.
Jose immigrated from Mexico in the 1970s, becoming a trailblazer for his family and paving the way for generations to come. Through hard work, integrity, and determination, he built a life defined by honor and sacrifice. He did things the right way, and remained proud of the man he became until his final day.
He was known for his strong work ethic and fairness in life. Jose worked for 47 years at Modine Manufacturing, a testament to his loyalty and dedication. Some of the sweetest memories were simple ones — sharing lunch together under the trees with his family on warm summer days on his breaks.
Jose was a man people naturally gravitated toward. He had a gift for seeing through others quickly, understanding character with rare clarity. If Jose came to your home, you could be sure you were someone he trusted and respected.
He taught his children the importance of good character, strength, and providing for family. The best gift he gave to his children was seeing him happy. He never made struggles or hardships visible to his children giving them the best childhood. He wanted his family to feel safe, cared for, and supported — always.
Jose met his soulmate Dawn at Modine. He was working there already 20 ish years, he was trusted and proved his dedication to her right of the bat . He would sing to her, whistle songs as she walked by, and find little melodies that carried his feelings when words weren’t enough. His voice and his playful whistling became something she would come to recognize instantly — a sound that meant she was seen, admired, and cherished.
What started as songs turned into a love story.
Dawn saw in him a good man of character. She knew he would take care of her, protect her, and work tirelessly to provide.Y He had dreams not just for himself, but for the family he would build.
True to who he was, he poured himself into being a husband and father. He worked hard, stood firm in his values, and created a home built on love, strength, and security.
Jose was also a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews, loving them deeply as they grew and built families of their own. He will be remembered for his kindness, humor, fairness, and the way he made everyone feel cared for.
His love only grew deeper when he became a grandfather. His three grandchildren were a source of immense pride and joy.To him, family meant building something that would last beyond him — His greatest wish was that they would always feel safe, supported, and deeply loved.
To (me his daughter), he was more than a husband father and grandfather. He was “Papa.”
He was everything he was ,”El hombre que más te amó.” The man who loved you the most.
Jose Delamora’s legacy will live on through the family he built, the values he passed down, and the countless lives he touched.
