Jor-el's obituary

Jor-El Llego Andres was born on April 20, 1967, in Pangasinan, Philippines. He passed away on March 24, 2025, in San Diego, California. His life was marked by an extensive passion for exploring the world. The first journey he made was relocating from the Philippines at 11 years old to live in Hawai’i, island of Kaua’i. It was then where he was raised by his mother and went to school. He graduated at Kapa’a High School, and shortly decided to join the Navy in 1987. This allowed him to fulfill his dream to explore and travel the world.

After dedicating 20 years of service to the Navy, he retired on October 31, 2007. Although he was retired, Jor-El felt that his mission was not complete and continued to work for the Navy as an independent engineer contractor. He became an educator and a great mentor, and earned the respect and admiration from his family and colleagues. He was also known for his perseverance, kindness, resilience, and unwavering dedication to those around him. Jor-El was always willing to lend a helping hand or simply be a listener by providing support for anyone who sought his guidance. Whether it was for a friend in need, a family member, or a stranger, he gave himself freely without ever expecting anything in return.

His loving nature and hard work were not the only qualities Jor-El had. During family parties, he would express his silly side and that made him a source of laughter to all who were fortunate enough to be around him. He had a competitive spirit for the love of basketball and golf, and admired going to the shooting range with his friends as his favorite pastime. Jor-El also enjoyed being a cook and developed the love of Japanese cuisine when he worked for Kintaro Japanese Restaurant, located in Kapa'a, Hawai'i. He admired superheroes and would always refer to himself as “the father of Superman” due to his namesake. He had a passion for traveling all over the world, such as wandering the bustling streets of South Korea, riding elephants in Thailand, and exploring the culture of Japan. Though he traveled far and wide, there was no greater adventure other than his beloved wife, Florence. Jor-El and Florence married on November 20, 2008 and their love knew no boundaries.

Jor-El's kryptonite was his family and close friends. As he joins his father, Perfecto Andres, he is cherished by not only Florence Andres, but also his Mother, Finalrin Andres. His three children - Kristina (Kevin) Budomo, Phillip (Julie) Andres and Jor-El (Adrianne) L. Andres II. His siblings - Nura-Nal  (Tyler) Coons and Mon-El (Teresa) Andres. Followed by his nieces - Sja-Nal (Ryan) Constantino, Ke'ana Coons, and Carian Andres; his nephews - Adam Walter, Loren and Makaio Andres. Grandchildren include Jae'oni Pena Talon, Malia Keilani Andres, Brayden Budomo, Jaxon and Cassian Andres. And lastly followed by grand nephews/nieces - Kaiden, Loretto, and Mireya.

His spirit will live on through them and in the hearts of all those who loved him. His memory will forever be a beacon of strength and love to his dear ones, a reminder of what it means to live life to the very fullest.

May he Rest in Paradise.
