Joni Elizabeth Taylor, a lifelong resident of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on January 15, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 62.
Joni’s life was defined by the many roles she held and the love she gave so freely as a devoted mom, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and loyal friend. She raised her beloved son, JD, with strength, care, and an unwavering commitment to family.
Kind-hearted, resilient, and selfless, Joni had a way of lighting up any room. She was known as the life of the party, always bringing laughter, warmth, and a positive spirit wherever she went. Her radiant smile and optimistic outlook drew people in, and her many social circles were a reflection of her gift for forming genuine connections. Joni made friends everywhere she went—friends who often became like family.
She loved traveling, making memories, and spending time surrounded by her family and extended circle of friends. No matter the setting, Joni’s presence made people feel welcome, seen, and valued.
Joni is survived by her son, JD; her partner, Lenny; her sister, Paula; her brother, Doug Sr.; her nephew, Zac, and his wife, Corrine, and their children, Maci and Beckett; her nephew, Doug; her niece, Aren, her husband Adam, and her son Rorik. She is also survived by countless friends, lifelong, newly found, and those who felt like family.
Joni’s legacy lives on in the love she shared, the joy she brought, and the many lives she touched along the way. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
