Jona-tan, my “not so little” cousin. What an incredible young man you were ❤️ You always lit up the room with your infectious smile & energy and love for life. I will always cherish the fun times we had floating down the Ichetucknee whenever the fam visited Gainesville. You would leave your tube and search for wildlife on the banks which made me nervous! But you were fearless and always found turtles, snakes, or fish. You also loved taking Snapchat selfies with allll the filters on my phone. They always make me laugh and smile when scrolling through. Thank you for all of the sweet memories we created, love you forever kid.

I met Jp when I was still in high school and this kid instantly felt like family. He became best friends with the people I care about most. I watched him run around and raise hell and also watched him start grow up and work and fall in love. He was the always the awkward silence breaker, the one who mediated the arguments, the light hearted smile in the room. I’ve watched him grow so much the past few years and I couldn’t be more proud of him. From the way he treated strangers to the way he treated those he loved most he always chose kindness. Jp never cared about someone’s background or what bad things he had heard about you, he always gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. He was a friend to everyone he met and to know him was to love him. I’ll forever be thankful for the dinners, the awkward car rides, the relationship advice, late night McDonald’s trips and for him being apart of my chosen family.

I officially met Jp freshman year after Brinleigh told me about the crush she’d had on him while we were at canvas, but it wasn’t until two summers ago at Camp Kulaqua that I was lucky enough to truly call him a friend. From the first conversation to the last time we spoke, Jp carried himself with such kindness and warmth. He was so full of life and laughter. What stood out most about Jp was how genuine he was. He didn’t just treat those close to him with love, he showed that same kindness to everyone he met. Whether it was offering a helping hand, making someone laugh on a hard day, or even giving me a free car wash at the Whistle express. That was just who he was. Jp was truly a kind soul, full of life and light. I feel so grateful to have known someone as impactful as him.

I’ve known JP since I was in 5th grade. We went to a small Christian school in the area and he was always the goofiest, kindest, and loving guy ever. You couldn’t be in a room with him where he didn’t make you smile from a joke or a funny story. He was always playing a sport and would invite you to join. He always cared about other people first and that hasn’t changed to this day. He had a sweet spirit, you could see it in his eyes. JP was the person that would look at you with intention when he was having a conversation. He would check up on me when I was going through a season of life that was extremely difficult for me. He would always ask and see if there was anything he could do. I did not know his parents well, but I do know they raised an amazing son and they should feel so proud. He was a great man who was so loved and is so missed. #LLJP
