Mike's obituary
Jon " Mike " Corr, 71, of Anaconda, Montana, died on December 11, 2021 with his son Brian and daughter Savannah, by his side, while visiting his family in Arizona.
Mike was born on August 17th, 1950 in Anaconda Montana to Jeanne Edwards ( Beninger) and John Edwards, and later adopted by Albert Corr. After graduating from Fayetteville High School in West Virgina in 1968, he went on to enlist in the United States Marine Corp and served his country as a machine gunner in Vietnam.
Upon his return, he worked in the mines of Butte, the Anaconda Smelter, and the oil rigs in North Dakota. Mike started driving a log truck in 1970 and that turned into a life long career as long haul owner operator, Truck Driver. He hauled every kind of product you could imagine from cattle with his good friend Woody Driver to lumber, Christmas trees, boxes of water melons, train engines, sod, pipe and steel all over the country and Canada. His kids grew up traveling with him in the big truck and really enjoyed it. His driving career spanned 40 years and millions of miles. He truly loved being out on the road in a Kenworth Aerodyne or a Long Nose Peterbilt 379.
Mike had 5 children, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, Brian Corr 48(Austin(Kendell & Jaxon)), Trever, Hanna, Mackenzie), Nicholas Corr 42(Jennica, Mya, Mikaela, Kaylee), Savannah Hill 38(Waylon), Maddison Hill 34(Tanner, Brooklynn, Wyatt, Emberly, Cambria), Danni Altenburg. He was unendingly proud of his kids and loved his grandchildren deeply.
Mike moved to Arizona in 1995 to drive truck locally and later worked for his son Brian on and off for almost 15 years in his real estate business and later moved back to Butte Montana where he enjoyed finding deals across NW Montana with his son Nick in his Auto Dealership business & many trips transporting vehicles. Nick is also Mike’s birthday gift as they share the same birthday. He loved being with his family and helping out where ever he could. Always willing to jump right in and do whatever he could to support their businesses.
He had a one of kind laugh, he lived in the moment and on the edge, with a child like enjoyment for life. He also enjoyed his time with his daughter Savannah in Arizona and going to Sturgis to support her and Kody's custom motorcycle business. His youngest daughter was his "special daughter" and they had a special bond always singing and laughing together. He also lived in Great Falls, Mt spending time with his daughter Danni and Kim and looked forward to lake days.
Mike was predeceased by his mother Jeanne Corr, dad John Edwards, adopted dad Albert Corr, sister Dawn Corr, loving niece Maggie Corr and uncle Billy Beninger.
