JoMarie's obituary

On November 23, 2023 at the age of 67, JoMarie Stephens gracefully earned her wings, transcending to walk among the angels of heaven. Born on October 29 1956 in Monte Vista , Colorado, to Walter Bruce and Helen Ruth Hawkins. She leaves behind a legacy of love and a life dedicated to family. On April 7, 1972 she married David Stephens and together they welcomed four handsome boys into the world. Charles, Bobby, Walter, and Raymond. Tragically ,on April 26, 1976 JoMarie faced profound loss as the love of her life, David Stephens passed away due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Later in life JoMarie found love again with Bruce Cain, leading to the birth of four more beautiful children: Michelle,Jennifer, Christopher and Crystal. JoMarie's heart overflowed with the love for her eight children, and her family was the truest testament to her greatest joy.

JoMarie had a very spirited youth. Some might say when she was young her favorite pastimes were getting into fights and making mud pies. In her youth she had a deep love for petticoats, layering them so abundantly that her father had to remove some. Growing up on a fish hatchery cultivated her deep love for fishing, camping and animals. Later in life she found a passion for collecting angels and porcelain dolls.

Her life was not easy however, it was a testament to resilience, with a radiant smile that could weather any storm. JoMarie will always be remembered for her boundless love, unyielding spirit and the countless lives she touched. Her memory will forever be cherished.
