Background

Our Mission
For years, I tried to find my childhood friend, Jolette Greene. I searched for her on social media, looked for an obituary, and wrote to her, hoping for a reply. Sadly, I learned my friend had passed away in 2022 without a service or obituary because her family couldn’t afford either. There is more, in 1950 my grandmother was pregnant with their 13th child. when my grandfather died. My grandmother was forced to give up the families automobile to pay for the funeral. There are no less than 10,000 funeral fundraisers every day.
We believe no one should face such choices nor a chance to honor their loved one. Every life matters, a final place to rest and an obituary should be a basic human right. And for the living everyone deserves to know what happened to their loved one with a national obituary database such as Ever Loved.
The Problem
Funeral poverty is a silent struggle. Every day, 10,000 families fundraise or sell cars and barbecue plates to raise money for the most basic service. Current funeral practices are financial and environmental disasters, with an average cost of $12,000 per funeral/burial and untold the price of the environmental damage. This price is far more than we can afford. Our Solution
At Hosanna High Community Burial Project (www.letsbetrees.org) a 501(c)(3) organization, we’re helping communities form private nonprofit cemeteries where, under guidance, families can perform burials themselves, as our ancestors did, making funerals affordable for all. We believe the 70% of Americans without a funeral plan will choose our $100 1 time membership society. Ending funeral poverty and the guess work at those unplanned services.
Our Vision
This is a plan for our future: building a world where every life is given an affordable, respectful, peaceful place to rest and a memorial obituary, regardless of financial position. A world that doesn’t pollute the Earth with chemicals, concrete, and caskets to lay our beloved departed to rest. A world that doesn’t profit off the poor in their most dire hours.
Our Inspiration
We are inspired by Everloved.com’s free obituary platform, which allows anyone to create a lasting tribute at no cost. This is a true gift to the people and answers a basic human right.
Our Fundraising Goal
We are fundraising to create marketing for letsbetrees.org to make people aware and support our mission to reform how we manage our death care.
Our Gratitude
Thank you, Ever Loved, for providing a place to memorialize our loved ones for free, if need be.

Thank you, Google, for $10,000 a month in Google Ads. Together, we will move this mountain.
