Joleen's obituary
Joleen Lynae Bingham went to heaven on Saturday, July 8, 2023. After a courageous battle, she passed away at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (RRMC) in Medford, Oregon due to complications of metastatic breast cancer and pneumonia. She was 35 years old. Her mother and grandmother were by her side.
Joleen was born on April 29, 1988, at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo, CA. She grew up in Napa, CA, then Vacaville, CA before the family moved to Oregon in 2004, when she was 16 years old. Oregon was the perfect place for Joleen. Even as a young child, she loved to camp, fish and be outdoors.
Joleen graduated from Rogue River Highschool in 2006. Her son, Zackary, the light of her life, was born in December 2014 at RRMC. In 2019 she earned an associate degree of general studies from Rogue Community College (RCC), then completed their phlebotomy program. She did her internship at RRMC, then worked at RRMC as a phlebotomist until her cancer diagnosis in 2021. Joleen loved her job and work family and hoped to return one day.
Joleen always tried to stay positive and shared her cancer journey with others through social media. She always had a smile on her face and tried to have a good attitude even through all the pain. She was an inspiration to many.
Joleen was preceded in death by her grandfather (Poppy) Bill Bingham, and is survived by her son, Zackary, her mother, Mary Joleen Bingham, her grandmother, Judy Joleen Bingham, her father, Thomas Reingold, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Joleen loved spending time with her son, family, friends, and her cat Iris. She loved the outdoors, the ocean, gardening, reading, watching a good movie, cooking, BBQing, camping, traveling, rock hunting and flowers, especially sunflowers and tulips. She was good at so many things and loved helping people. She was brave, strong, smart, beautiful, loving, stubborn, hardworking, and fun. She was the person you wanted by your side, both in times of crisis and celebration. Her absence is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Joleen was an amazing daughter, granddaughter, mother, cousin, and friend. She is greatly missed and will never be forgotten. Joleen was truly one of a kind. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
A celebration of life was held at the family home in Oregon in August 2023.
There is a memorial stone for Joleen at the WinterSpring Memorial Grove Wall of Remembrance located at Donahue-Frohnmayer Park in Medford, OR.
