Johnny Wilson Sparks, Sr., age 75, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, passed away on February 15, 2026. He was born on July 28, 1950.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, James H. Sparks and Nellie T. Worner Sparks; his beloved wife of many years, Helen Elaine Sparks, who passed in September of 2021; his siblings Charles Sparks, Mitchell Sparks, Curtis Sparks, Betty Jean McNulty, Earnest Sparks, Zack Logan Sparks, Ruth Ellen Sparks, Hiawatha Sparks, Robert R. Sparks, and Christopher Sparks; and his grandson, Mason Sparks.

He is survived by his children, Johnny Wilson Sparks, Jr., Misty Keith, and his adopted son, Steven Sparks; Misty’s longtime companion, Devin Myers of Clermont; his brother, Henry E. Sparks; his grandchildren DJ Keith, John C. Sparks, Zackery Sparks, Keri Sparks, Jeremi Sparks, Abigail Myers, Justin Sparks, and Kaci Sparks; and his great-grandchildren, McKenna and Kadince.

Johnny was a retired farmer and a true outdoor enthusiast. He found joy in the simple things—being outside, caring for his animals, and spending time with friends. He especially loved attending animal swaps, where he enjoyed trading chickens and other livestock and socializing with people who shared his passion for country life. His days were happiest spent outdoors, surrounded by the land and animals he loved.

Johnny will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of farming, and the genuine friendships he formed throughout his life. He leaves behind a legacy of family, tradition, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
