Johnny Ridgeway passed away on Monday, May 30th, 2022, after a long and at times intense battle with some aggressive illnesses.

Johnny was born on September 3rd, 1959, in Griffin, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and an infant brother. He is survived by Kimmie Ridgeway (wife), his children Jeremiah Ridgeway, Beth Ridgeway, Nehemiah Ridgeway, Timothy Ridgeway, Ruth Ridgeway, and his grandchildren, siblings Linda Reed,  Luther Ridgeway Jr., Fred Fordham, Jason Ridgeway, Luther Ridgeway III, Montavious Ridgeway and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and loved ones. Johnny was a longtime resident of Rochester, New York. Throughout his life, Johnny left an impact everywhere he went. Sometimes it was good, other times not so great, but wherever he was present, you knew he was there.

He had a smile that could light up a room. If something was on his mind, you did not have to wonder, he would make it known. In the kitchen he was more than an amateur. He was great at building things from the ground up, with or without instructions. If you ever needed encouragement, he was your guy.

Whether you’d seen Johnny recently or if it had been a long time since you were in touch, he enjoyed the opportunity to connect, reminisce and catch up. For many years Johnny attended church, where he sought understanding of God's Word, and developed a sensitive ear to the Holy Spirit. He was often tuned into things you may have thought were only known by you and God.

Johnny will certainly be missed. He has left us a legacy of lessons from his life.
