Johnny's obituary
He was born in Mercedes, Texas on December 16, 1946 the son of Domingo Fonseca and Guadalupe (Vega) Fonseca.
On November 14, 1975, in St. Joseph, Michigan he married Kathryn Ferrel who survives.
Johnny was a General Laborer working for many years at Cass County Road Commission in Cass County, Michigan.
Johnny loved his wife, children, grand children and great grand children, and was proud of their accomplishments. He played the accordion his entire life and played professionally in numerous Tejano bands. He was very funny and loved to laugh, tell jokes and dance.
Johnny is survived by his wife; one daughter Jennifer (James Fletcher) Fonseca of Marcellus; one son Johnny Jr. (Sarah) Fonseca of Paw Paw, Steve (Darla) Haley of Marcellus; grand children Selena Haley, Izaiak Haley, Leeland Haley, Arabella Haley, Adrien Fletcher, Johnny Fonseca III, Antonio Fonseca, Sophia Fonseca, Lundyn Fonseca, Nora Fonseca, and Natalie Burnett; great-grandchildren Elliana Schoetzow and Harper Schoetzow; four sisters MaryLou (Manuel Salas) Gonzalez, Yolanda Martinez, Sylvia Fonseca, Irene Fonseca, three brothers Abel (Rosa) Fonseca, Roy Fonseca, and Tony (Isa) Fonseca; and numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents Domingo and Guadalupe Fonseca, one son Marcos Fonseca, one brother Mario Fonseca and one nephew Eric Villalobos.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at 1 PM on December 28, 2019 at the Marcellus VFW Post 4054 with Very Rev. Robert Creagan officiating.
